Shazam
Shazam is a music-discovery app that identifies songs by listening to a short clip — this process is called a Shazam. A high number of Shazams signals strong public interest and popularity, as it shows many people are eager to know the song’s title or artist.
Shazam is not a streaming app and is completely free to use. You don’t need an account to access its basic features — just open the app and start identifying songs instantly.
Connecting a streaming service is optional, but it allows you to listen to full tracks directly within Shazam. The app is available on mobile devices, tablets, and smartwatches, and can also be used through smart speakers and home systems like Alexa — simply say: “Alexa, Shazam this song.”
You can also use Shazam’s website or install the official Chrome extension to identify songs right from your browser.
💡 Tip: The more devices you Shazam on, the better! Add Shazam everywhere — and use it often to help boost awareness and engagement for your favorite songs.
Shazam Charts
Shazam's Top 200 charts is updated daily and it ranks the most Shazamed tracks in a country for the past seven days. Shazam has just as many chart categories as streaming platforms with one global chart, 70 national charts, 30 Discovery charts, and many genre charts.
