A list of terms used by SKZ Fanbases, STAYs or by Kpop fans in general.

Dictionary
  • 🫧 - Shorthand for Bubble, an app SKZ uses to communicate with STAYs

  • 🍈  - Melon, a Korean streaming app

  • 🌊 - Flo, a Korean streaming app

  • 🐞 - Bugs, a Korean streaming app

  • 🧞 - Genie, a Korean streaming app 

  • 🐺 - Bang Chan’s representative emoji

  • 🐰 - Lee Know’s representative emoji

  • 🐷🐰 - Changbin’s representative emojis

  • 🦙 OR 🥟 - Hyunjin’s representative emojis - Note: The dumpling emoji is used most often, since there’s no ferret emoji

  • 🐿️ - Han’s representative emoji, since there’s no quokka emoji

  • 🐣 OR 🐈‍⬛ - Felix’s representative emojis - Note: The chick represents his skzoo, Bbokari, while the black cat (rarely used) is because it was in his Bubble profile for a while

  • 🐶 - Seungmin’s representative emoji

  • 🦊 OR 🍞 - I.N’s representative emojis - Note: The fox represents his skzoo, FoxI.Ny, while the bread refers to his nickname Baby Bread

  • Aegyo - "acting cute" in Korean

  • Akgae - A solo stan who actively does not like other members of the same group. 

  • All-kill - when a song reaches No. 1 on all the Korean music charts

  • Anti (short for anti-fan) - someone who hates a specific idol or k-pop group

  • BG - Boy group

  • Bias - a fan's favorite member(s) of a K-pop group

  • Bias wrecker - a fan's second favorite member of a K-pop group who could potentially overtake their bias

  • Big 3 - refers to the top 3 entertainment companies in South Korea: JYP Entertainment, SM Entertainment & YG Entertainment

  • Bonsang - A prize at Korean award shows.  Lower than a Daesang. 

  • CB - short for comeback, or a new release

  • Cbars - organized Chinese fansites/fanbases

  • Code - SKZ content (short for SKZ CODE)

  • Center - often used to refer to the member who is the "face" of the group, but also used when referring to the center during choreo

  • Cupcake - Someone who doesn't fight on Twitter

  • Cupsleeve - an in-real-life meetup event where you get cupsleeves for a boba tea and make new friends

  • Daesang - Grand prize at Korean award shows.  Higher than Bonsang.

  • Debut - refers to the transition from trainee to idol

  • DMS - Domestic Shipping

  • Dongsaeng - "younger sister/brother" in Korean; a term used to refer to someone younger

  • Drop - when content releases

  • Drop the tags - Use designated hashtags to help trend on Twitter

  • EMV - Earned Impact Value - Measure of a star's value as a brand ambassador 

  • EL - Embedded links, a good way to help increase streams for SKZ by watching many youtube videos at once.

  • EMS - Shipping costs from overseas.  

  • Ending Fairy - Ending moment of a performance where the camera focuses on an idol before cutting away

  • Fancam - a video that follows one person performing

  • Fanchant - phrases (usually made by the group or group's company) meant for fans to shout during songs

  • Fan Service - When an idol does something to intentionally please fans

  • FB - Fanbase

  • Finger heart - a gesture formed by making a small hand heart with one's thumb & index fingers

  • GC - Group chat

  • GG - Girl group 

  • GO - A pooled group order to share costs of shipping for merchandise

  • GOM - The person running a group order

  • GP - General public

  • Hate train - When people pile on for clout on social media

  • Hwaiting - a Korean term loosely derived from "fighting"; a means of encouragement

  • Hyung - "older brother" in Korean; a term males use to refer to older males

  • IC - short for the voting app IdolChamp

  • Idol - a k-pop star who has debuted

  • I-Stays - Stays based everywhere but Japan and Korea

  • J-Stays - Stays in Japan

  • K-Stays - Stays in Korea

  • LATAM or LSTAYS- Latin America

  • Lead - usually referring to positions, such as Leader Dancer, Lead Vocal or Lead Rapper; it usually indicates the member(s) who is the second best at their position

  • LV - Louis Vuitton 

  • Main - usually referring to positions, such as Main Dancer, Main Vocal or Main Rapper; it usually indicates the member(s) who is the best at their position

  • Maknae - youngest in the group

  • Ment - an idol's ending message during a concert

  • MIV - Market Impact Value - Measure of a star's value as a brand ambassador 

  • MV - Music video

  • Noona - how a male addresses an older female

  • Oppa - how a female addresses an older male

  • OOTD - Outfit of the Day 

  • OST - aka "original soundtrack," usually for a Korean drama

  • Park - to link your music streaming account on Stationhead

  • PC - Photocards

  • Playlisting - Having songs added to a playlist

  • Poll - Can sometimes mean vote but usually refers to a practice on Twitter of liking, commenting, and sharing a particular post in order to receive more votes for a current voting

  • React - Like and comment on social media 

  • Sasaeng - Obsessive fan who invades idols' space, usually by stalking

  • Selca - Selfie photo

  • SH - Stationhead

  • Share - Share the link on other sites to reach more Stays

  • Shoot - Photoshoot

  • Shooter - Someone who fights on Twitter 

  • SKZ - short for Stray Kids

  • SSD - Stay Selca Day - The 25th of each month when Stays take selfies to mirror their faves; the date is an homage to SKZ’s debut date, March 25, 2018

  • Stan - an ardent fan of a k-pop group (noun); to ardently follow a k-pop group (verb)

  • Sunbaenim - a more experienced person within a company or industry

  • SVS - Stay Voter Society, an incredible voting team

  • Tags - Short for hashtags

  • Talker - SKZ show showing behind-the-scenes content

  • Trainee - a student at a k-pop entertainment company who is training to debut

  • Unnie - how a female addresses an older female

  • Visual - usually refers to the most attractive member(s) of a group

  • WTS - Want to sell

  • WTT - Want to trade

  • Y/n - short for “your name”; how idols add your name on Bubble

  • Y/n moment - A moment where it feels like the idol is giving you special attention  

  • YT - Youtube
